Dr. James Macer was born and raised in Pasadena. He attended John’s Hopkins University and University of Southern California as an undergraduate. Dr. Macer received his medical degree and completed his residency training at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He began his career in Pasadena California working with his father who had been a renowned Ob/Gyn physician in this area for over forty years. Dr. Macer quickly became one of the preeminent physicians in Southern California.
Dr. Macer is dedicated to giving his patients the best possible care. He takes pride in his ability to communicate, listen and develop a care plan specific to each patients individual needs.
Dr Macer has and continues to receive awards for communication skills, and is consistently named one of the areas and Southern California’s “Top Doctors” these awards are given by patients and fellow physicians alike.
Dr. Macer is currently Medical Director of Women’s Health Services at Huntington Memorial Hospital. He has served as a clinical professor at USC/Keck School of Medicine training residents in OB/GYN. He has served as President of the Los Angeles Ob/Gyn Society, he was Chairman of California/American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and was elected as a National Officer for ACOG in Washington DC. This organization establishes clinical guidelines and educational standards for the medical care of women. He is currently a member of the prestigious Pacific Coast Obstetrical and gynecologic Society. Because of his extraordinary medical expertise, Dr. Macer is often called on to provide medical expert reviews and testimony.
Dr. Macer is married to Dr. Cindy Macer. They have five wonderful children and reside in the Southern California area.
